About Us - Jessica
Jessica Utter, LPC
Many of us struggle with traumatic memories, stress, shame, or loss of purpose. We often feel anxious or depressed, angry, and disconnected from the world as we try to make sense of our experiences. Most of us learn to cope through addiction, codependency, and mental or physical illness. Yet, you’re also know that your experiences have the potential to transcend pain by creating meaning, then understanding, and, finally, healing.
Growing up in a dysfunctional home, I relate to childhood trauma, codependency, and addiction. And have also experienced working with complex trauma associated with military service, narcissistic abuse, marginalization, addiction and alcoholism, and loss of meaning and purpose. These experiences have shaped me today. It can be overwhelming, but that understanding helps cultivate empathy, acceptance, strength, joy, and resiliency. You have the ability to change; to grow, as a product of your desire to endure.
